A Flaming Fiesta!

Hello, Everybody!
We had a great time at the wedding shower for Sean and Anne. We are not sure how many people were there, but oh, my, there were many former Polk students, and their parents. It was great to see old friends, and visit with former Polk students. As you can tell, the theme was "Fiesta." Below is a picture of the cake table with all of the party decor. (Take note of the candles in the decorations.) The cakes were wonderful, and made by the "Cake Lady."
The honored couple are shown below as they were opening some of their many gifts.

This picture shows Sean and Anne with a family friend Andi. She was one of the hostesses.

As guests entered the home, they were greeted by this beautiful picture. Sean's mom called it "the shrine." The couple are both seniors in college, and will graduate this spring, but plan to continue working on their Master's Degrees.

We didn't mention the other food, but it too was delicious. There was guacamole, beans, rice, queso, and tacos made by the "Taco Man." Margaritas were also offered along with plenty of other things to drink.

Now, back to those decorations, and an ending to our "perfect" day of disasters yesterday. We were seated at the same table as the honored couple, his mom, and his grandfather. His grandfather was a delight to visit with, and we all enjoyed his conversation. All of a sudden, the paper Mexican flowers directly in front of Ellen burst into flames! YIKES! Luckily, we all had water in front of us, and we quickly extinguished the flames, but it could have been disastrous! The candle wick flamed up, and the paper ignited immediately. We couldn't get up because we were all wedged into our seats around the table. (Fortunately, no one wasted their margaritas by pouring them on the flames.)

Ellen was happy when the day was over. If you recall, she didn't have such a good one.

Nichole and Michael arrived about an hour before we had to leave for the party. After we returned from the party, we came home, got comfortable, and talked with them for awhile. Their arrival was the bright spot of her day.

On a totally different subject, we would like to wish Paula, Sharon's daughter, a very happy birthday. It is her 37th. Those 37 years flew by!
