Happy Birthday Eve!

Hello, Everybody,

We had a wonderful day today and hope that you did, too. Today was Sharon's Happy Birthday Eve. So, what did we do? We went to the new Walmart Neighborhood Market! (hee, hee) After going back home to put up the groceries, it was time for lunch. We decided to try a new restaurant not far from us. For years and years it had been Swenson's Ice Cream Parlor. Now it is Mesa Bistro and Wine Bar. Funny thing is, when we were seated and asked for a glass of Chardonnay, they still do not have their liquor license!! Can you believe that?? A wine bar and NO wine!!! How sad. BUT, they have no objection to their customers bringing in their own bottle. Soooooo. being the great American wine drinkers that we are, we said, "Save our table. We'll be back shortly!" Home we went.....grabbed a bottle from the fridge and returned to the restaurant. The food was okay, but not great. Perhaps as time goes on, everything will come together for them. IF they ever get their liquor license, we know a great guy who is a manager for one of the local wholesale liquor stores!

After lunch we came back home and guess what? Sharon took a long nap. What a surprise, huh? That gave Ellen a chance to go out and do a little birthday shopping for the big day tomorrow. Those details will have to wait until tomorrow!

Today is the last day for Sharon to be 64. We celebrated that. For dinner tonight we had crab cakes, broiled shrimp, steamed veggies, and bread sticks. It was delicious! Did we take a picture? NO! So sorry, maybe next time. On Ellen's outing this afternoon, she went to Barnes and Noble, not for books but for cheesecake! :o) Since we don't have a Cheese Cake Factory restaurant here, we settle for what Barnes and Noble carries. Today, one of the selections was carrot cake cheesecake. Mmmm, it was wonderful!

We'll let you know how it is to be 65 sometime tomorrow. Right now we are just enjoying Sharon's last day of being 64!
